Friends of Wylde Green Train Station were successful in a proposal to Birmingham City Council, Celebrating Communities 2022 fund earlier this summer and wanted to create new artwork at the Train Station. We approached and enlisted Kate,’The Crafty Brum’ to design ‘A Station Stroll’ mural, the brief was to fit with the given aim:
Getting Active
Encouraging an interesting stroll around the Station celebrating nature, planting, art work, poetry, history and consideration of travel beyond by train.
"Kate was amazing, she listened to our requirements and suggested ways to overcome some of the problems encountered along the way. The mural spans the canopy and shutter of the ticket office and is a combination of her trademark botanicals and an interpretation of the station‘s artwork, planting, poetry and nature created into a beautiful map," Nikki.
